With an Oscar in her hand thanks to her performance in I, Tonya, Allison Janney has a little extra career clout, though her proven talent means she didn't really need the boost. She's now in talks to join Hugh Jackman in Bad Education.

We're sort of hoping the filmmakers (which include writer Mike Makowsky reportedly drawing from something in his own past and Thoroughbreds director Cory Finley) change the name of this one, if only to avoid confusion with the British comedy version or Pedro Almodovar's 2004 drama.

The film would see Jackman as the superintendent of a school district who is committed to better education for local students while also embezzling public funds so he can live the life he wants. Janney – who is figuring out her schedule so she can squeeze this in between filming the sixth season of sitcom day job Mom – would be the school district business manager who is on to the scheme, and helps the superintendent cover his tracks while also enjoying the spoils.

Janney has a few films in the works, including Troupe Zero and a voce role in the new, animated Addams Family movie.
