The last time we checked in on Ubisoft's attempt to turn game title The Division into a movie, it was to report that Stephen Gaghan would direct it. He's since left the film, but it has found a replacement in the shape of John Wick and Deadpool 2 man David Leitch.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain have been attached to the film for a while now, acting as producers as well as the leads and making an effort to lock in a director. The third-person shooter title, which became a massive seller across different platforms, is set in a dangerous New York in the wake of a massive smallpox epidemic. In the various missions, you must work as part of the Strategic Homeland Division to rebuild its operations in the Big Apple, track down the cause of the outbreak and fight crime that pops up in the city.

Leitch is a man in demand, and once he's finished talking up the Deadpool sequel (which has a new trailer online), he'll dive into shooting the Hobbs and Shaw-centric Fast & Furious spin-off. After that, the Ubisoft team is hoping he'll segue into preparing The Division. Deadpool 2 lands on 15 May.
