Welcome to drip feed central, where the casting announcements for a big film arrive at an excruciatingly slow pace. In this case, the movie is the sequel to horror hit It, which is adding Jay Ryan to the ensemble.

Ryan will play the grown up version of Losers Club member Ben Hanscom, portrayed by Jeremy Ray Taylor in the first film. For the sequel, the adult Losers return to Derry Maine decades after their first encounter with the demonic entity known as Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard). While most of them have moved on with their lives and largely forgotten the terrors of their younger days, a devastating phone call summons them back to confront what they thought was vanquished.

With Andy Muschietti directing again, the cast will also include Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, James Ransone, Andy Bean and Skarsgard. Nothing has been officially announced, but it seems likely that the young cast from the first movie will crop up in flashbacks.

Gary Dauberman wrote the script, still adapting Stephen King's classic, and It: Chapter Two should be creeping into our cinemas on 6 September next year.
