With Halloween creator John Carpenter acting as consultant and the backing of the Blumhouse team, Green and McBride have worked up a tale that picks up years later and appears to play with continuity. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode, ready for her final confrontation with killer Michael Myers after she narrowly escaped his killing spree 40 years ago.

Not much else is known about the story yet, though we do know that Judy Greer will play Karen Strode, Laurie's daughter. Will Patton, Nik Castle, Andi Matichak and Omar J. Dorsey are also in the cast, and the film will stalk into cinemas on October 19 this year.
